Cowboy Up

One way or another, we’ve all been pummeled by the current financial fall out. Whether it’s your mortgage, your 401k, your job, heating oil prices…. life’s a bit rough, at the moment.
Whenever the ball wasn’t bouncing their way, Texas born Kevin Millar, a member of the Boston Red Sox 2004 World Series Team, often quipped to his teammates “Cowboy Up!” The Sox ended up breaking the “Curse of the Bambino, and winning the World Series for the first time in 86 years.
As Millar put it,
“In rodeo, to “cowboy up” means to suck it up in times of adversity. No boo-hooing. No namby-pamby fatalism. As one T-shirt slogan puts it, “Are You Gonna Cowboy Up or Just Lay There and Bleed?” John Wayne couldn’t say it better.
So dust off and cowboy up.

Great post…and posted on Kevin Millar’s birthday too.
I only know that because it’s mine too and he’s about the only famous person with it.
