Cars: Compare Cost to Buy vs Cost to Own

In its recently released annual car issue, Consumer Reports warns “it’s not what a new car costs to buy, it’s what it costs to own that counts. It might be worth paying a little more up front when you calculate how much it will cost to own the car for five years, including depreciation, fuel, interest on a loan, insurance, maintenance, repairs, and sales tax.”

Not so easy to calculate, you think? Well, Consumer Reports does it for you. And you can go to cars.com for a second opinion.
