Update on Money Miser Account
January 17th, 2008 • Related • Filed Under
As I painfully watch our 401K funds sinking into the sunset, I can at least take some solace tallying up our Miser Savings Account for January. We have scavenged $505.56 so far this month as follows:
- $140: 1% Cash back for last year with a Visa Credit Card
- $101.18: Cashed in Coins from Change Can
- $100: Ing Sharebuilder Promotions: $50 for opening each account (my spouse and I)
- $50: Opening a Chase Freedom Credit Card
- $35.30: Coupons- We had a big one ($25) for car repairs at the dealer
- $26.00: Unspent money (foregoing those coffees and candy bars is paying off!
- $25: Opened a new prescription at CVS (you can transfer one from another pharmacy, too).
- $20: Rite-Aid Rebate
- $5.03: Selling read books on Amazon
- $3.05: Returning cans/bottles
It is definitely a slow boat to financial independence. I would prefer a speed boat. Needless to say, I won’t be quiting my day job soon.
